Do the cards on your Azure DevOps Boards and Sprint Boards provide all the information required for day-to-day work?
If you navigate to “Fields” (under “Cards”) in the board settings (⚙️), you can customise the appearance of the individual work item types for the team. Here it is possible to display additional fields on the cards. For example, it can be useful to see the parent work item. Adding further fields is particularly helpful if a customised process with newly defined fields with important information is used. For a better overview, existing information can also be hidden, such as the “ID” of the work item or “Assigned to”.
Tip: The “Show empty fields” setting can be very helpful. If no value has been entered for a field, it will still be displayed on the card. For example, the “Effort” can be entered directly on the board without opening the work item (see image).
